Last update: July 18th

Nothing major to report at the moment. I'm currently at work on a series of commissioned works for Northwest Mutual's new offices, but when that is completed I'll be starting work on new gallery-bound subjects. More info to come.

The Quent Cordair gallery is moving shop from San Francisco to Napa Valley, so I've decided to paint a couple more wine-themed paintings for the new locale. This painting, "Life's Small Pleasures", is the second painting featuring wine in the composition, following "Precision".

I have a few commissioned works coming up this summer, but I'll be starting another wine-themed painting during that time as well.

My new painting, "Precision", is now complete. This is not, unfortunately, a professional quality image, but it will have to do until I can find a local photographer in my new environment who can shoot paintings properly.

I have two new compositions that are just about ready for canvas. The first, which I'm giving the working title of "Luxury", should be underway very soon. More to come on that later.

Greetings from the Cayman Islands! Sorry, but I haven't bothered getting online for a while. I hope everyone is enjoying a fantastic new year and keeping their resolutions with diligence.

Question: Is my new painting, Precision, done yet? Answer: Yes. However, if you've been following the step-by-step progress on the art blog at Cordair.com, you may have noticed that progress has been very slow, and that it seems *not* to yet be done. I apologize for this, even though it's not my fault. I've been told that some ne'er-do-well has hacked the hosting blog site for some unknown reason and that progress will begin again soon. Meanwhile, just pretend that the steps posted are in real time and that the painting hasn't been varnished and shipped to the gallery already, which it has. You believed in the Tooth Faerie once, so this should be a snap.

More compositions are in the works, and more updates are to follow. Until then, fare well and happy sailing.

For those wanting to learn more about realistic oil painting technique, I have posted a list of books on my links page which are the exact artists I studied myself while learning to become a Romantic Realist painter. Study of these books, combined with study of the works of these artists in person, is what unlocked for me the secrets of high realism in oil painting technique. All the books on the list include links to where they can easily be purchased from Amazon.com. To view the list, CLICK HERE.

I'll be posting regular updates of my new work in progress, called "Precision", in the Artist's Studio page of the Quent Cordair Fine Art gallery's website, here: http://www.cordair.com/wordpress

There, you can see the step by step progress of the painting accompanied by my own written commentary. Enjoy!
